Dermalux™ is a pain free and relaxing treatment which is suitable for all skin types and conditions, without any downtime. Utilising long
established LED technology, the treatment is a significant development in the battle to keep our skin looking flawless, youthful and healthy!
The visible effects are immediate; Dermalux™ instantly awakens a tired and dull complexion. After just one treatment skin is incredibly
hydrated, plump and radiant and redness and irritation is calmed. Light therapy also promotes a feeling of wellbeing, helping to relieve the
stresses and strains of everyday life! A course of treatments offers dramatic and lasting improvement in the appearance and health of the skin.
LED Phototherapy uses colour wavelengths of visible light which have specific rejuvenating benefits within the skin. Skin cells have the
ability to absorb light and use it as a source of energy to fuel the repair and rejuvenation of damaged cells or kill bacteria. It is a
natural biochemical reaction similar to that of plant photo-synthesis.
The increased energy enhances cellular metabolism which in turn stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, boosts circulation and
accelerates tissue repair. Studies have shown that when skin is exposed to LED light, skin cells regenerate themselves on average 150% to
200% faster and hydration can be increased by up to 600%. This whole process results in radiant, youthful and naturally healthy skin.
For skin rejuvenation, anti-ageing and healing. Red light has a powerful anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. It is also
an excellent treatment for sufferers of sensitive skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema and psoriasis.
LED Red Light benefits include:
For acne and congested skin. Blue light has powerful anti-bacterial properties that decongest and purify acne and problematic skin
and help to normalise oil production.
LED Blue Light benefits include:
For sensitive and problematic skin the red and blue light in combination offers enhanced benefits and is clinically proven to
be one of the most effective treatments for inflammatory acne and scarring currently available.
Combined Lights benefits include:
Following a Dermalux™ treatment, there are some immediate visible changes in the skin but most changes occur naturally over a series of treatments. Results may continue to improve up to 4 to 6 weeks after a course as LED phototherapy continues to stimulate the natural cellular processes to rejuvenate and improve the quality of the skin.
Whilst a course of treatments is recommended for optimal and lasting results, a single session of Dermalux™ is ideal an ideal 'pick me up' to replenish vital hydration, restore radiance or simply to calm irritated skin. Results of LED Phototherapy can be enhanced when used in combination with other skin treatments such as Microdermabrasion, Skin Peels, Micro-Needling, Injectable treatments and Laser.
Dermalux™ LED light therapy is a noninvasive skin rejuvenation treatment that uses the power of natural light to stimulate the skins cell renewal processes.
Everyone can benefit from light therapy. It reverses the signs if ageing, clears acne and blemishes and accelerates healing. It helps damaged, injured or diseased skin cells return to optimum health.
Light therapy is clinically proven for the treatment of a wide range of skin conditions and the most common skin concerns including lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, sun damage, dehydration, open pores, acne and blemishes, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis.
No. There is no risk of irritation, side effects or down time that may be associated with more invasive procedures. There have been no reported side effects in over 1,700 clinical studies and it does not harm the body in any way.
LED light therapy is a heat free treatment that does not contain harmful UV wavelengths and therefore cannot damage skin tissue or create photosensitivity. It is clinically proven to be safe for all skin types, including darker skins and the most sensitive skin conditions.
LED light therapy is a noninvasive and pain free treatment that promotes a feeling relaxation and wellbeing whilst rejuvenating the skin. Exposure to the light can increase serotonin levels which in turn help to relive stress, tension and headaches. Any feeling of 'heat' is most often due to the stimulation of blood circulation.
With light therapy the visible effects are immediate. After just one treatment skin is incredibly hydrated, plump and radiant and any redness and irritation is calmed.
The number of treatments can vary with age, skin type and condition. With light therapy the results are cumulative and improvement will continue even after the treatment has stopped. Treatments taken in quick succession will achieve optimum results and maintenance treatments may also be recommended. Furthermore, as light therapy does not harm the skin, there is no limit to the amount of treatment you can have.
Results can last for several months following a course of light therapy treatments. However, as with any skin treatment, maintenance sessions are advised to ensure lasting results.
Visible light will not cause any damage to the eye, even with deliberate exposure. As the light is very bright, we recommend the use of the protective eye goggle provided for comfort purposes. With infrared light, client goggles must be worn for the duration of the treatment.
There are certain circumstances in which light therapy may prove to be unsuitable. Certain medications may causes photosensitivity and specific conditions may be triggered by light. For your safety and comfort, it is imperative that any medication illness, condition or other treatment that you may be undergoing are fully disclosed during your consultation.
LED light therapy uses specific wavelengths of visible light. Sunlight is made up of a whole spectrum of visible and invisible wavelengths that we see as white light or 'day light'. Light therapy uses only safe wavelengths that are proven to have therapeutic effects in the skin and does not contain UV wavelengths.
No. Light therapy does not contain the harmful UV rays that stimulate the melanin in the skin to produce a 'sun tan' effect. However, LED's stimulate hydration and blood circulation and will instantly give your skin a healthy and radiant glow.
Yes. As light therapy does not create photosensitivity, light therapy is safe directly pre and post sun exposure. In fact, it is particularly beneficial at this time to strengthen and replenish the skin and repair damage caused by UV exposure.
No. Vitamin D production is triggered by exposure to UV light which converts cholesterol found naturally in the body to vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).
The treatment times have been calculated to ensure optimum results. Darker skins may require longer exposure times to have the same level of effectiveness.
As light therapy is used widely in the medical field including the treatment of jaundice in new born babies, it is safe for all age groups. However, the age limit is purely at the discretion of the clinic.
In preparation for a light therapy treatment, all makeup and skin care products including sunscreen must be removed to allow penetration of beneficial light into the skin. For optimum results, the skin should be exfoliated prior to exposure to remove any dead skin cells which may reflect the light. For enhanced results a topical serum may be applied.
Yes. The treatment should be followed by the application of suitable skin care products including a sunscreen. Makeup can then be applied. We recommend the use of mineral makeup which will not block pores and allows the skin to breathe.
LED light therapy has a positive effect on those areas of the body where stimulated activity of the fat cells and lymphatic channels can result in reduction of tissue size. The treatment also stimulates fibroblasts, strengthening collagen and elastin fibres to tone and tighten skin.
Any system that is designed for home use and without the guidance of a skin care professional will not deliver the same level of rejuvenation
benefits as an 'in clinic' treatment. Home use systems generally have a smaller treatment area, are lower in power, have to be applied topically
to the area of concern and require a higher frequency of treatment to achieve a noticeable result. Home use systems may be beneficial to maintain
the results of a professional light therapy treatment.
