Our clinic is a specialist centre in Sculptra treatment. Our doctor is also one of only a handful of approved International trainers in Sculptra treatment and he sits on the UK Sculptra Training Advisory Board.
Dr Xavier also trains other doctors and surgeons in advanced Sculptra treatments in the UK and Europe to promote best practice and excellent client care.
Sculptra® is a collagen stimulating injectable treatment that is designed to restore facial volume and contour the face.
In doing so it can smooth out or soften lines and wrinkles. Sculptra® is considered to be a discreet approach to achieving a
fresher, younger-looking and natural-looking appearance. Results should start to become noticeable after about 6-10 weeks
As the natural ageing process takes its toll on us, our skin loses its full, firm, youthful appearance and becomes thinner and starts to wrinkle. If that was not bad enough, fat tissue, which also helps to fill out our faces, is lost, causing skin to sag and wrinkle further. For some people, this reduction in skin volume can make their face look thin and narrow and cruelly appear older than they actually are.
One treatment that's been around since 1999 is Sculptra, a non-invasive injectable facial enhancement therapy to smooth out wrinkles, restore facial volume and contour the face. It works by stimulating the build-up of your body's own collagen to get rid of lines and wrinkles and restore a more youthful appearance but with gradual, natural looking results. Sculptra provides an alternative option to consider instead of both traditional surgery and some less longer-lasting non-surgical treatments.
Sculptra's main ingredient Poly-L-lactic acid works from deep within the skin's layers stimulating the body's own production of
collagen. Poly-L-lactic acid has been used successfully in surgical procedures for more than 25 years and is gradually and naturally
broken down by the body.
It is a discreet approach to achieving a rejuvenated appearance and once collagen production has been stimulated, natural looking results should become noticeable after about 6 weeks. This subtle enhancement allows you to maintain your beauty secrets as there is no dramatic, instant change but rather a gradual enhancement as your appearance is plumped up gradually from within.
The treatment has sometimes been described in the press as a being like a non-surgical 'liquid facelift' and is less traumatic than surgery though it can only be performed by a trained medical professional in a suitably equipped clinic. More than 150,000 people in over 30 countries have been treated with Sculptra.
Sculptra is suitable for both woman and men of different ages. It can help with deep folds around the mouth and nose,
sunken cheeks, and loose skin as well as scars. Our doctor will be able to assess your suitability for the treatment.
Your collagen production slows down and then becomes dormant. This is an ideal time to start
Sculptra® to keep your collagen reserves active and for skin tightening.
Sculptra® is ideal for long lasting lines and wrinkles correction and enhances cheek volume.
Sculptra® is ideal to restore facial contours and volume and correct facial laxity and improve the jaw line and other areas.
A clinical study has shown that the improvements obtained with Sculptra have lasted for up to 2 years in many patients and recent evidence from clinicians suggest this can be longer. Treatment usually consists of 2 to 3 sessions lasting up to an hour; a few weeks apart with no 'downtime' needed like other treatments and carries no risk of muscle paralysis, which can lead to an unnatural looking facial expression.
No skin testing is required prior to use.
No. At your first treatment visit, it may appear that Sculptra® worked immediately because of the filling effect from the injections and the water used to dilute Sculptra®. In a few days, when the filling effect goes down and the water is absorbed by your body, you may look as you did before your treatment. Sculptra® takes time to gradually stimulate your collagen and correct the weaknesses in your skin. We will see you again a few weeks for you next treatment.
The appropriate number of treatment sessions may vary but the amount of Sculptra® you require will be discussed with you. On average a course of 3 treatments is recommended with 1 or 2 vials at each session.
Treatment results will differ for each person. In a clinical study, the treatment results lasted for up to 2 years after the first treatment session, in many
patients, which means it gives a longer-lasting result than most non-surgical options and provides a credible, cheaper alternative to surgery. Touch-up treatments
may be needed to maintain the desired effect.
The good thing is that after a few years you can have a 'top-up' to maintain the result and it works out less expensive over the time it lasts than say, injectable fillers, which need topped up about every 6-8 months.
Make-up may be applied a few hours after treatment but we will be able to apply some light cover-up make-up for you so you can leave the clinic looking great!
We will apply a topical anaesthetic cream for about 30 minutes to numb the area being treated first. Also, the product is mixed with a local anaesthetic to
help make the treatment as comfortable as possible.
Treatment usually consists of 2 to 3 sessions lasting up to an hour; a few weeks apart with no 'downtime' needed unlike other treatments. It also carries no risk of facial muscle relaxation, which can lead to an unnatural looking facial expression.
Over 150,000 people have had Sculptra® in over 30 countries and the active ingredient (Poly-L-lactic acid)
has also been used in surgical procedures for over 25 years.
